STUDIO NORTH

IN 2014, with the help of a group of students, Meredith created and designed Studio North, a student-run film production company dedicated to funding and producing films of the highest quality. Studio North is overseen by Meredith, working in conjunction with a student Executive Board, with chairs in production, finance, script, talent, equipment, and marketing. This Board works closely with Meredith throughout the year to fund and oversee two films per year as well as crafting professionalization events, speakers, Q&As, and screenwriting and production workshops. In 2017, with the financial help of the Zaentz Fund, four films will be funded by Studio North.

THE SAUL ZAENTZ/STUDIO NORTH WRITERS ROOM

In 2017, Meredith became Creative Director of The Writers Room, which she also organized and developed in conjunction with the Saul Zaentz Fund for Innovation in Film and Media. This project consists of a fully functional television writers room staffed by eight undergraduate students who were competitively chosen. Together in the fall of 2017, they will go through two Master Class weekends with industry writers, and craft a web series designed for mobile. Master class weekends will be centered around Guest Writer Zack Bornstein, an Emmy-nominated staff writer for Saturday Night Live, and Luke Kelly-Clyne, Creative Director for Big Breakfast and developer of multiple shows. The Writers Room, currently in its second season, will run through winter 2019.

THE JOHNS HOPKINS FILM FESTIVAL FOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS

This full educational experience involves workshops with top industry players as well as a full film contest with cash prizes! Students travel from across the United States and around the world to screen their films on the big screen at the Stavros Niarchos Parkway Theatre, and compete for prizes while also bonding with each other and getting great advice from our professional media gurus who run our top-flight workshops. Meredith served as the Creative and Administrative Director for this effort in 2018, and continues to, moving forward to its second year.
